About Milly Music

What is Music Together?

Did you know that everyone is born musical? Music is our birthright! This means that although you may not realize…. YOU ARE MUSICAL! In Music Together® classes, all caregivers are encouraged to sing, dance, play, and make music with the children they love. We know that young children learn best from the powerful role models in their lives. That's where grownups come in! Our family music classes show parents, teachers, and caregivers how to help their children become confident music-makers just by having fun making music themselves.

First offered in 1987, our music classes help little ones develop their innate musicality—and much, much more. Our early childhood music curriculum has decades of research behind it, in both music education and child development. We know what we're talking about, and we're good at what we do! And because we recognize that children learn through play, we make everything we do in class engaging and fun!

Dunia Vega, Center Director / Teacher

Mileiah, Mommy's Muse
Dad, The IT Guy

From a very young age, Dunia could easily pick up melodies and enjoyed entertaining her family with her innate musical abilities. She immediately stood out in her family as the “musical child.” This led her to audition (on her birthday), and be accepted into New York’s renowned “Fame School,” Fiorello LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts. Afterwards, Dunia went on to receive her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music. Even though Dunia has performed in many stages, she began to look at music differently when her daughter, Mileiah, was born.  From her studies, Dunia knew how beneficial it would be to expose Mileiah to music from an early age. What she did not know was how it would help her bond deeply with her daughter. This bond and her new appreciation for music caused Dunia to focus her efforts on bringing that bond and love to other families... and that is how Milly Music was born!
